I have to apologize for missing a few post and not posting regularly. But I’ve been really busy these days with work and life and the works. I am going to make that up with a post of a gorgeous polish which I think has been overlooked by many.
As you know Ozotics were all the rage just a few months ago, but those were just the duochromes I think. I was stalking looking through a whole lot of photos online but I eventually settles on 2 Ozotic Pro polishes – 604 and 607.
604 is a gorgeous champagne/light gold based scattered holo polish. I think I have a post on this polish but I know it wasn’t a good one back then. LOL.
Anyways, 604 was a breeze to apply! All I needed were 2 coats to achieve opacity. From the photo you can see that the holo particles are quite big. But rest assured that they do not stick out at all. In fact, I went without top coat and my nails were still super smooth!
Removal was a breeze too!! All I needed was one cotton pad to remove all the polish on both my hands! No foil method needed here 🙂
The holo was super easy to photograph as well. Just look at the photos below.
How not to drool! 😛
My photos for this post ain’t all that. I did not realise that they turned out quite meh. When I was taking them I actually though tthey looked wuite good on the camera screen. Who knew that beige, brown and gold together would be so hard to photograph. 😦
Anywyas, this is a dressed up version of yesterdays manicure. I topped off My Vampire is Buff with Cult Nails Tulum and painted wispy lines down the seam with Skin Food Gold Sparkle.
I really liked this combination, I actually wore this manicure for a good 3 days before I removed it. It’s also kinda funny how the gold shimmer in Tulum has gone into hiding next to the gold polish. The gold shimmer was the reason why I picked Tulum for this nail art in the first place.
I would say maybe I picked the wrong polish to paint down the middle. Don’t get me wrong, Gold Sparkle is a gorgeous color! But’s its formula, being somehat a cross between glass flakes and glitter, made it difficult to hide the part where the two colors meet. As you can see in the photo below, it actually looks like there is gold only over MViB and not Tulum.
I definitely would re-do this manicure. With a different choice of polish of course! Maybe some metallics or shimmers on the sides and a nice creme down the middle.
What do you think?
I’m sporting nubbins in this post. Well, my nails decided it is too long and broke on me while I was painting my nails for this 9 Day Nail Art Challenge. Nubbins or not I must forge on. LOL!
I decided to do my nails based on this tutorial
from Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. Sarah always has gorgeous swatches on her blog and her nail art is just drool-worthy!
Back to todays nails.
I always love leopard prints on my fingers but so far I have only used a stamp to do so. I always avoid free handing it because I am afraid that it would not come out perfect. Yea, I’m weird like that.
I pinned this tutorial since the day it came out but I never tried it till now. And now I think to myself – Oh My Gawd, why was I so scared before! LOL!
I used Mrs Claus I got from my grab bag from 365 Days of Color as my base color. Mrs Claus is a raspberry jelly with gold shimmer in it. I kinda like the color but it turned out to be a little sheer for my liking. I am wearing 3 coats of Mrs Claus on my nails. If you look carefully you can still see my nail line underneath the spots.
The spots are done with Skin Food Pedicure Sparkle in Gold and wrapped with OPI Black Onyx.
This was actually the manicure that I wore for Lunar New Year. I took the photos but never found the time to edit and post them. I was really busy visiting and munching on snacks the whole time!
I started off my manicure with 2 coats of Etude House LUCIDarling Shimmering #5, a bright red with shimmer in it, and topped it off with Hong Bao by Sonnetarium. Hong Bao 紅包 stands for the red packets which unmarried people a.k.a me get during the Lunar New Year.
Hong Bao 紅包 is a orangey red jelly polish packed with gold and black hexes and a dash of gold shimmer in it. It definitely changed up the base color a good bit. For the better that is! Though this manicure is super simple, I did get quite a few compliments on it! So..Yay!
Now, back to sitting in front of the TV with New Year cookies. Ta~
Valentines Day isn’t my favorite holiday but I do love reds and I do love trying something new 🙂
I have been wanting to try this
design out for the longest time but never attempted it because my nails were quite stained and this designed required me to show off a whole lot of nail. Since my nails are much better than before I thought this was the best time to pull this look off!
I wanted to do somthing different from the pin. Instead of having it all in the same color family I decided to go for contrast! I did this manicure with striping tape instead of regular scotch tape as in the pin but I think it turned out fairly good with this color combination.
I used OPI Big Apple Red and Goldeneye and topped it off with my quick dry top coat from essence. Bad move!
Can you see it in the photo below?
How about now?
Something went funky with my top coat and I got this dark stripe of red on my middle finger. Just the middle finger even though I used the same topcoat on all my nails :S It is apparent in some photos but not others too. LOL.
Owh wells, I still like the overall effect very much. Gold and red is definitely a winning combination in my books!
I am not so handy with a paint brush for nail art. Or with striping tape for that matter. So my next course of action for patterned nails – stamping!
When I first saw this design on nail blogs, it was love at first sight! I always wanted to get it but it seemed that no one was selling just a single plate with this design (BM212)
. After I found out that it was from Bundle Monster 2011 25piece collection
I hesitated to get it. Stamping just ain’t my thing y’know.
After many months of trying to stamp and getting rather good results, I started to stalk Bundle Monster’s website and tried buying it a few times but my order got rejected more than once. Gah!
I stamped the image wiith China Glaze Passion
and dotted the pattern with opposite colors. Somehow my dots weren’t as equal sized as they should be. I need more practice! I wanted to finish this manicure with a funky ala Fingers from Fingers Polish Mania
but failed so bad I did not photograph it.
I picked up a POPbeauty polish from Sephora the other day. I have always been eyeing them but as long as I could remember, they always were priced at RM49 (~£10/USD15) a tad on the expensive side if you ask me. But when I saw them going for RM29 (~£5.90/USD9.25) I knew I had to buy them. Even if just one of them.
I grabbed this gorgeous red glitter polish which I now know as Xmas from the POP beauty website. I thought it looked a lot like China Glaze Ruby Heels which I still do not own.
What to do when you are wearing a red mani and just purchased an awesome red glitter? Why, top the existing mani off with some glitter of course!
Xmas looks even more gorgeous on my nails that it did in the bottle! It gave my half moon manicure a lit from within quality! I think I only applied one coat on all my nails but somehow it seems like my middle and ring finger has more glitter in them than the other two fingers.
I have to post this photo I took with flash! *drool*
I just love bargains! And this is definitely a winner in my books 🙂
