Birthday Haul

I got myself some pretty polishes for myself this month! After the No-Buy in October, I decided to go slow with the buying. It lasted OK until Black Friday came along! LOL. But those polishes are going to be considered my Christmas presents to myself so I guess it’s OK. Right? 😛
First up, I got myself a Deborah Lippmann Run the World (Girls) set! I haven’t gone crazy and splurged that much on polishes, I only got his because it was on SALE! Back in September, I bought a Groupon which gave me a chance to grab this at RM107 instead of RM287! That is a whooping 63% off!
The set came just in time for my birthday but it wasn’t perfect, can you see it in the photo above? How about in the photo below?
The pink polish (I Kissed a Girl) was missing 😦
I contacted the seller and they said it was a manufacturers defect and they sent me Pink Blush as a replacement. Not to bad I guess.
Next up I have 2 essence color3 polishes i picked up at a temporary essence stand in the maill. The colors I picked was 06 Ticket to the Show and 01 Midnight Date.

Last but not least I picked up a few polishes from the new OPI holiday collection! I was tempted to buy more than this but I told myself to be good and only picked up Skyfall and Goldeneye.

Wait a minute! I picked up 9 polishes! That’s not exactly a few. I think my limit was 10 polishes this month. LOL! Not so good afterall I guess.

From the Vault: Blue addicted

I topped off my previous mani with some some really AWESOME glitter polish!
essence blue addicted is an awesome polish. Apparently it is a dupe for a Deborah Lippmann’s Accross the Universe. Well, there is no way I can get DLs where I am so needless to say I am over the moon with this awesome purchase!
The photos below are 2 coats choose me! followed by 3 coats of blue addicted.

From the Vault: Choose me

I did a quick mani with essence choose me! way back when my nails were much much longer. Choose me! is a dupe for the teal glitter from OPI Summer Collection 2010, Catch Me In Your Net.
Choose Me! is a teal metallic foil with a very slight duochrome. When the lighting is just right, this color can look slightly more yellow/green. If i remember correctly, the photos below are of two thin coats. You can see that there is a VNL there. Usually I would top it off until it is opaque but I had other things in mind for this mani!

Purple tootsies!

I know not all people like to see toes on blog but I just had to post a picture of my pedi I did that day. But I love the colours on my toes so much I had to post this picture of it!

The colors I used to create this look was Sally Hansen Purple Potion and Essence Time for Romance. I will definitely recreate this look on my fingers when I can locate my bottle of SH Purple Potion. I think I may have left it in my drawer at work :/

Pictures after the jump of course 🙂

Reverse Glitter Tips

As much as I loved my full mani with Irreplaceable, I knew I just had to bring out the subtle gold shimmer in it! I used NYX Mushroom Glitter (greyish gold glitter) which I got for only RM5 from my recent haul from the Nail Fiesta moving out sale.
I just painted a a third of my nails with NYX MG and dabbed some polish along my nails to give it a slight gradient effect. The two polishes blended very nicely and whenever lights hit my nails I would just stare at them in awe!
An artsy accidental blurred photo which shows how shiny the glitter is.
