Believe it or not I have actually never done a full floral manicure ever and this is my very first attempt! Hah!
When the challenged called for a floral manicure I was litereally at a blank. So I turned to my best friend – Google for some inspiration. After a few clicks I came across this
manicure by the talented Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. Of course as you read on (which I did not), you would know that this design was infact by Mr Candiipants.
I liked the whimsical look that this floral manicure had. So without much hesitation I went for it. And this was before I found Mr Candiipants’ YouTube tutorial
Overall I would say this manicure is really easy to recereate. And all you need are the brushes from the nail polish bottles. No need to hunt high and low for nail art brushes. As for the dots, I believe I used the tip of the nearest pen to me. Heh.
It was quite hard for me when the next challenge came along. I probably should’ve planned it out properly so that I could have it on for a few more days. Alas! The procrastinator in me got the better of me. LOL
Since my monochrome leopard nails got so much attention the last time I thought that I would recreate a blue version of it for the ‘most complimented/attention grabbing manicure’ challenge.
Unfortunately this manicure didn’t get to see daylight. Literally. I was looking forward for them to be as awesome as the black and grey ones but alas they did not reach that level of awesomeness..THEN!
I think it might be the color combination but I was just not impressed. I think I removed them less than 10minutes after I snapped these photos
Looking back at them now, I think they look kinda cute. LOL. *undecisive woman*
I finally got myself to try the cloud manicure
I saw on Nail Side long long ago. As much as everyone says it is really easy to do I somehow always messed it up. It is either the clouds werr too skinny, uneven, too fat.. you get my drift.
When the nail art challenge I took part in asked for a ‘technique that you are not familiar with’ I had 2 things in mind – water marbling or clouds. I did a water marble on one nail, 3 times and finally gave up. And for this manicure, I actually did remove a few nails because I was not too happy with it =/
To be honest, I like them but I am also slightly disappointed. My ‘clouds’ seems to be a more square than round D: But, for a first try, I think I shall give them a pass 😛
OMG. I am really really slacking with my blogging. I am really sorry about it but life has just taken priority over anything. There has been a big change recently and I have been trying to cope. Please bear with me.
Today, I have more polka dots for you. Yup MORE polka dots!
I have to say that polka dots are my thing. Whenever I am out of ideas I would turn to my dotting tools. And of the many times I do, I end up with these basic little dots. Though these are a little different considering that my dots are usually way bigger. I guess small dots looks nice too once in a while.
I used one of my oldest polishes in this manicure! The blue polish – OPI No Room for the Blues is one of my very first OPI nail polish purchases way back when! I am surprised that it still applies really nicely after 3 years! So ladies, NEVER believe the label when it says nail polish spoils after 24 months. If you really want to get rid of them – please please send them my way. LOL!
